Alexandra Soto of Desert Vista High School has been named the recipient of the USDA/NIFA A-UBET Scholarship.

The USDA/NIFA $40,000 Scholarship is a one-time award, up to $20,000 for two years, to any United States college or university. The scholarship is merit based and its purpose is to prepare one student for a USDA career in a mission-critical field.

As a Hispanic Serving Institutions Higher Education Grant, priority is given to Hispanic or other underrepresented minority students, but all FAFSA eligible students may apply for these federal funds.
