Todd and Deanne Porhola, longtime residents of Ahwatukee Foothills, are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsie Nicole Porhola, to Ryan William Anderson, son of Bill and Tina Anderson of Bend, Ore.

The couple's journey began early on as schoolmates. Looking back, they realized they were on the same T-ball team at age 6. After moving to Arizona with her family at age 11, Porhola and Anderson lost contact; but, chance would have it, they would meet again.

Porhola is a 2006 graduate of Desert Vista High School and played three years on the Thunder women's soccer team. Following graduation, she attended South Mountain Community College where she played on the Cougars women's soccer team while also attending Mesa Community College. Most recently, Porhola enrolled at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Wash., where she is studying to become a registered nurse.

Anderson is a 2006 graduate of Mountain View High School in Bend, Ore. During high school, he participated in cross country, downhill skiing and golf. Currently, Anderson is serving in the U.S. Air Force and looks forward to becoming an engineer post military.

A July 2012 wedding is planned in Bend, Ore.
