Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Deborah Ostreicher, deputy aviation director for public relations, is the recipient of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 ATHENA Public Sector Award. The ATHENA Awards recognize women in the public and private sectors for their professional accomplishments, strong commitment to the community, and mentorship of women.

Ostreicher was one of four public sector finalists including Pam Gaber, CEO of Gabriel’s Angels, Katherine Kemmeries Cecala, chief operating officer, Valley of the Sun United Way, and Dr. Coral Quiet, co-founder/volunteer medical director, Arizona Institute for Breast Health.

Ostreicher manages the airport’s media, public relations, customer service and air service initiatives. Her extensive community involvement includes mentoring children and serving on the Board for New Pathways for Youth, an organization which provides support for the community’s homeless children.
