As talk of the highly anticipated sequel, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” revs up, French III students at Seton Catholic Prep creatively gave the Avengers some French adventures of their own — and in the process, won first place at the Arizona State University Foreign Language Fair in the student-written play competition.

The winning play was titled, “On a oublié l’anniversaire de Pepper!” (We Forgot Pepper’s Birthday!). To make up for almost missing Pepper’s birthday, the Avengers decide to whip up some crème brulée for her.

Students were judged on memorization, pronunciation and fluidity, and language assuredness, emotion and feeling.

The winning team includes juniors Lily Arama, Teresa McBryan and freshman Thibault Denamiel of Phoenix; juniors Genevieve Leach and Sabrina Wozny of Gilbert; junior Ana Falls of Chandler; junior Anna Price of Tempe; junior Mariana Chacon of Mesa; and junior Alex Fernandez of Scottsdale.
