The Krell Institute has announced that Jarrod McClean of Ahwatukee Foothills has been awarded the highly regarded Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (CSGF) from the Department of Energy (DOE). McClean, a 2006 graduate of Desert Vista High School in Ahwatukee Foothills, will pursue a doctoral degree in chemical physics at Harvard University beginning this fall.

The DOE's CSGF is a highly competitive program funded by the DOE's Office of Science and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Fellowships are granted annually and fund the education of doctoral students whose course of study focuses on the use of high-performance computers to solve complex problems in science and engineering.
