Phoenix Ronald McDonald House was heavier by 11 pounds with a donation of drink can pop tabs after a donation by the Pack 78 Phoenix Patrol.

As part of a service project, the Ahwatukee Webelos den began collecting pop tabs last year in order to donate to the Phoenix charity. Ronald McDonald House collects pop tabs from drink cans as a way of recycling and earning money to support the temporary home for families of seriously-ill children.

Visiting the Roanoke campus in downtown Phoenix on Jan. 16, the scouts took a tour of the facilities in addition to dropping off their collection.

The three Cub Scouts, Trey Hrvatin, Nicolas Garnand and Jacob Peterman, have completed all Webelos achievements and received the Arrow of Light Award on Jan. 31. The award is the highest award in Cub Scouts.
