The Greater Phoenix Jewish Film Festival has announced its newest board member, Janet Arnold. Arnold brings with her a wealth of knowledge and accomplishment gained through her decades of committed involvement in Valley arts organizations.

Arnold was the founder and producing director of the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company, and has been an actress with various companies throughout the Valley for more than 22 years. Under her direction, the Company grew since 1988 from a small community theater to one of the largest Jewish theater companies in North America before the economy forced it to close its doors in June.

Arnold feels that with the film festival’s offerings, there is the opportunity to reach a broad cross-section of individuals from both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities to help make a difference in awareness and acceptance of Jewish values and culture.

Arnold has served on the Executive Committee and is a past-president of the International Association for Jewish Theatre.
