Ms. Schneider's fourth-grade class at Kyrene Monte Vista Elementary School in Ahwatukee celebrated Valentine's Day, not with Valentine boxes but with Arizona centennial boxes. The children worked diligently on their boxes and had the state symbol, bird, flag and Capitol on them. The children have become Arizona experts in learning facts about their state to celebrate its birthday. The party included creating a map of the state of Arizona using Graham crackers, candy and liquorice to create an edible state. They concluded the party with an Arizona 100th birthday cake.
