Ahwatukee teen honored with community service award

Sydney Mooneyham, a 13-year-old honors student at Kyrene Altadeña Middle School in Ahwatukee, was recently awarded a $150 prize for her commitment to community service. The award was established to recognize outstanding young leaders making a positive impact in the community.

Mooneyham, who is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society at her school, was nominated by a family friend who was familiar her many acts of kindness over the years.
