It’s been a busy year for nonprofit agency, Project C.U.R.E. (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment). In the last 12 months the organization has shipped donated medical supplies and equipment to 15 different countries.

Volunteers at the Project C.U.R.E. warehouse in Tempe spent the days before Christmas loading a 40-foot cargo container with life saving medical supplies for shipment to Cameroon (west Central Africa).

The supplies were shipped to the International Community Reference Healthcare Complex in Buea, Cameroon. The brand new 43-bed hospital will serve a population of approximately 200,000. The health care facility is a much needed addition in a country where the average life expectancy is estimated to be 54 years; among the lowest in the world.

PROJECT C.U.R.E.’s Arizona distribution center collects excess supplies and equipment from Valley hospitals and medical manufacturers, allowing them to dispose of their items in an environmentally friendly way. If you’d like to help support Project C.U.R.E.’s efforts, donations can be made online at www.projectcure.org.
