David Phillip Ethington, 23, a graduate of Desert Vista High School, passed away suddenly on March 30.

Born Nov. 12, 1990 to Tom and Cathy Ethington in Ahwatukee, David was completing his final class at Chandler-Gilbert Community College for his associate’s degree and had just been accepted by Arizona State University to continue as a junior pursuing a career as a teacher in secondary education.

David was an avid reader, enjoyed weight training, bicycle riding and spending time with family and friends while watching a movie or just hanging out at the local coffee shop. He loved to travel, dine and visit exciting places. He was always happy and fun and had a big heart for others.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his sister, Laura Ethington; a brother, Tom Ethington II; three Beagles, Mimi, Gianni and Sugar; two aunts; three uncles; and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be tomorrow, April 5, at Foothills Baptist Church, 15450 S. 21st St. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to Family Promise, http://familypromiseaz.org, to help homeless and low-income families.
