Madison Callan and Isa Rivers, left to right, junior Girl Scouts, won a contest for best wagon design and theme at the Arizona State University Women In Engineering/Advancing Women in Construction cookie wagon building workshop last month as part of the Girl Scout “Gift of Caring” program.

The ASU student organization hosted the outreach event for 56 Girl Scouts from 20 local troops, working with the fourth- and fifth-grade girls to design, build and decorate cookie wagons.

Troop 774, based in Ahwatukee, has contributed cookies to Hospice of the Valley’s patients, families and volunteers for several years.
