After a courageous year-long battle with cancer, Timothy Lupton-Stegall was peacefully called home to be with God on July 19. He leaves behind his loving family: Abby (mother), Bill (father), Steve (step father), Tiffany and Kayla (sisters), Robby (brother), and Alice (grandmother).

In his 23 years, Timothy has proven to be such an inspiration to those lucky enough to have met him and be graced with his presence. Throughout his life, Timothy was dedicated to many organizations as well as his athletic teams. A graduate of Desert Vista High School in 2008, Timothy brought his positivity, strength, laughter, and warm smile to the school’s cross-country and track teams throughout all his high school years. He was also a dedicated athlete with Arizona Special Olympics where he competed in track, speed skating, and swimming, earning himself numerous medals that he always cherished.

In February, Timothy was recognized as Arizona Special Olympics’ most inspirational athlete due to his continued involvement and encouragement of teammates while facing his own personal obstacles. Timothy will always be remembered for his zest for life, passion for sports, unwillingness to never give up and the love he had for his family and friends.

Please join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, July 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Foothills Golf Club, 2201 E. Clubhouse Drive.

My sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends. I, myself, have a brother who participates in Special Olympics and I can only imagine how tough it is to lose someone so innocent.
