On April 8, thirty members of the Ahwatukee Recreation Center gathered to prepare 125 care boxes. These care boxes were delivered to Luke Air Force Base on April 10 where they will become part of Luke's Operation Thunder box. Donations from the Ahwatukee community provided items included in the care boxes. Over the past three years, the Ahwatukee Recreation Center has successfully packaged 550 care packages for members of the U. S. military stationed overseas. For more information on this program, contact Amy Nicholls at (480) 893-2549 or stop into the Ahwatukee Recreation Center at 5001 E. Cheyenne Dr.
