Bethany Christian School hosted the Ninth Annual Turtle Race on Sept.  21 at the Arizona Grand Resort.

The event kicked off with a corporate race with 11 local businesses sponsoring a turtle. First place was awarded to Sun Valley Church-Tempe, with Ron’s Tire and Service center second and Valley Christian High School placing third.

The individual race, with more than 4,000 plastic turtles, raced down the lazy river scrambling toward the end with prizes given to the first 25 turtles to cross the finish line. This year set a record with the most individual turtles ever adopted in the history of the event. Over $57,000 was raised during the event to support Bethany Christian School.
