In light of teacher appreciation week last month, the husband and wife law team, Ahwatukee personal injury attorneys Mark and Alexis Breyer, announced their latest teacher of the month, Merrideth George of Roadrunner Elementary School.

For the Husband and Wife Law Team, teacher appreciation is not limited to one week; they have founded an appreciation program that goes the entire school year, and every month awards one lucky teacher $250 and a pizza party. The principal, superintendent, and staff from the school district came out to the surprise presentation.

George was praised for her communication skills, dedication to her classroom, students and school in the Washington Elementary School District for over six years, and has been teaching kindergarten and first grade at Roadrunner for the past two years.

Often teachers go unrecognized for the hard work and dedication they put into their students and classrooms. Unfortunately, due to economic factors and budget cuts, schools cannot always provide all the supplies that teachers need for their classrooms. Numerous studies have found that the average elementary teacher will spend well over $400 a year of their own money for classroom supplies, books and other materials. Supporting teachers and students is near and dear to the Breyers,’ as Mark’s mother and sister are both teachers.
