Micah Zawtocki, son of Rich and Marie Zawtocki, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is a senior at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Chandler, and a member of Troop 118 out of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Ahwatukee.

He is active in band, the robotics team and a mentors program, where he works with younger students at the school.

Zawtocki did a project for the Kyrene Family Resource Center in three parts.

First, a collection of school supplies and clothing for the beginning of the school year.

Second, raising money and purchasing presents for children who attended the Kyrene Winter Wonderland. Zawtocki also helped set up for the event.

The final part involved purchasing and installing shelving in the warehouse at the resource center.

Zawtocki put in more than 80 hours on the project, with other volunteers putting in nearly 200 hours.

More than 55 people were involved in the project.
