The Arizona Education Association (AEA) hired its new Executive Director Mark J. Simons.

Simons joins AEA from the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC), where he served as the deputy executive director.

The AEA Board of Directors unanimously voted to hire Simons on March 8.

Simons has a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and brings more than two decades of experience in management and organizing to the executive director position.
