South Mountain Community College (SMCC) will welcome clothing brand entrepreneur Johnny Earle Cupcakes to campus on Thursday Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. for a guest lecture.

Starting his business at the age of 19, Earle developed his company without a business plan, start-up loans, investors, wholesaling, or even conventional advertising.

The Johnny Cupcakes line includes T-shirts, shorts, sweaters, jewelry, pins and other items.

Earle has created a cult following with many customers tattooing logos on their bodies and camping out in front of his stores for a week to get a limited edition product.

The “Johnny Cupcakes” lecture will in SMCC’s gymnasium, 7050 S. 24th St., at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. There will be a Q & A period following the lecture.
