Valley Christian senior and Ahwatukee Foothills resident Tana Kemmer has announced her intent to enroll and play basketball at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. One of the state’s all-time leading three-point shooters and an exceptional student, Kemmer is a four-year letter-winner for the Trojans, a team which went 114-9 during her high school career and won two state championships.

Known as an outstanding academic institution, Cornell women’s basketball team has also found success in recent years. The Rams finished 25-2 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament last year.

Kemmer set several records during her four-year career at Valley Christian. She holds the single game scoring record of 42 points, single game three-point field goals made with 10, and is the all-time three-point leader, having made 374. She finishes her high school career ranked second all-time in the history of Arizona girls basketball for most three-point field goals made. Her 1,433 career points ranks third on the Valley Christian all-time scoring list.
