Students from the Tempe Union High School District were named as candidates for the prestigious United States Presidential Scholars Program.

Mountain Pointe High School student Jessica H. Zhu and Desert Vista High School students Zakary A. Ferrara, McKenna A. Mulhern, Ryan J. Smith and Anran Yu were among students from around the district.

Each student will have the opportunity to become U.S. Presidential Scholars based on their academic achievement or on their academic and artistic scholarship in the visual arts, performing arts or creative writing.
