South Mountain Community College is introducing a new Spanish class for Spanish speakers this spring, along with two other new Spanish classes.
SPA-103: Elementary Spanish for Spanish Speakers is a review of basic Spanish grammar and pronunciation, with an emphasis on reading and writing skills. The class is intended for native speakers needing a review of essential language skills.
SPA-115: Beginning Spanish Conversation I is intended for non-Spanish speakers, and focuses on basic pronunciation, vocabulary and sentence structure. The class will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings at the SMCC Main Campus. The class begins Jan. 16.
SPA-117: Healthcare Spanish focuses in basic conversational Spanish for health care workers or students, emphasizing sentence structure, pronunciation and vocabulary used in health care settings. This class will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings at the SMCC Main Campus, and begins Jan. 16.
SMCC’s spring semester classes begin Jan. 12.
