The Desert Vista High School marching band took First Place in Division 1 (large bands) at the "Sounds Along the Santans" marching competition recently at Basha High School in Gilbert. Their performance of "Transport: From The Ground Up" also earned two of the six captions for highest score in the individual categories of Auxiliary (color guard) and Visual performance.

The DV Thunder Marching Band will be competing again on Oct. 23 at the ASU Band Day and Oct. 30 at the WBA-RCC competition in Riverside, Calif. Desert Vista will then host the Arizona State Marching Festival Semifinals on Nov. 6 and the public is cordially invited to come watch more than 20 of the best high school marching bands in Arizona compete for top honors right here in Ahwatukee Foothills.
