The students at Bethany Christian School in Tempe are gearing up for their biggest project yet: making over a thousand apple pies from scratch.
Last year, the eighth-grade class made 1,420 pies for the annual fundraiser to support their graduation trip to Disneyland. Pie-making will begin Oct. 24 with the students and parents working from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in shifts.
For $10 a pie, anyone in the community can donate to their trip and receive a delicious, homemade pie that is ready to freeze and perfect for the upcoming holidays.
All pie orders need to be turned in by Oct. 15.
