On Saturday, Nov.13th, 2010 the Mountain Pointe High School hosted Ford's Drive One 4 UR School fund raising event. They had nearly 200 drivers show to test drive one of 15 new Ford vehicles from trucks to Mustangs to hybrids.
The event brought in $3780 to the band boosters and each student that recruited a test driver earned part of the $20 per test drive from Ford to go to their student account to off set the fees for the band program. The band and orchestra students are planning a trip to the Heritage Festival in Anaheim this May and money from this event will also help pay for that trip.
The music programs have no state funding whatsoever. Fund raising is a vital part of the music program. The band boosters and MPHS want to thank Ford for this wonderful opportunity to help the music students and the band program.
