University of Phoenix, the nation's largest private university, today announced that its University of Phoenix Foundation has awarded a $1.2 million grant to Roadtrip Nation, a leading youth empowerment organization that encourages students to define their own road in life.

The multi-year grant from University of Phoenix Foundation will assist Roadtrip Nation in expanding their Roadtrip Nation Experience Curriculum within existing participating regions as well as bring that curriculum to new regions across the United States. The grant enables Roadtrip Nation to expand their reach into high school education to help at-risk students in disadvantaged communities gain access and exposure to life pathways that they may have otherwise not known existed.

By providing these programs, Roadtrip Nation and University of Phoenix will be impacting young minds on several levels. Students will feel they have unprecedented exposure to pathways for their future, they will learn 21st century work skills including digital media creation, they will experience greater engagement and connectedness to school and they will feel their classes are relevant and connected to the real world.
