Mark Honaker and at least 70 Desert Vista High School student volunteers are hosting a 9/11 anniversary event that is open to the public. It will take place in the ceramics room at DV, 16440 S. 32nd St., on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

It will be a performance by students with members of the band and orchestra. During that time, Honaker and his students will attempt to craft 3,300 bowls that will benefit WTC Health Hospital, which helps 9/11 first responders who are now experiencing health problems due to being at Ground Zero in the aftermath. For more information, contact the DV office at (480) 706-7900.
