Demonstrating support for budget overrides for the Tempe Union High School District and the Kyrene School District extends beyond party lines, a bipartisan group of local elected officials, including Sen. John McComish, Rep. Jeff Dial, Rep. Bob Robson, and former Rep. Rae Waters will be going door-to-door today talking to voters to encourage support of the two upcoming budget overrides.

The event is sponsored by Yes Support Our Schools and Keep Kyrene Strong, the respective campaigns organized to support the budget overrides. Joining the two campaigns is the Valley Interfaith Project, a faith-based, non-partisan community advocacy organization.

Voters will be asked in November to approve continuation of the current Maintenance and Operation Budget Overrides for TUHSD and for KSD.

Volunteers will gather at Hillside Spot Café, 4740 E. Warner Road, at 3 p.m. on Oct. 6. For more information, go to yessupportourschools.org or keepkyrenestrong.org.
