Golfers will encounter some furry four-footed companions when they tee off at Rescue A Golden of Arizona’s “Links of Gold” Golf Tournament at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale on Sept. 15.

Links of Gold is the signature fundraising event for Rescue A Golden of Arizona (RAGofAZ), an all-volunteer non-profit organization that has been rescuing golden retrievers since 1998.

The event kicks off with a four-person scramble shot gun start at 1:30 p.m. followed by a cash bar yappy hour at 5:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. Throughout the event, attendees can purchase tickets for raffle prizes. Proceeds help to provide preventative and sometimes life-saving medical care to rescued golden retrievers, who are then placed, through adoption, in new “forever” homes.

To register, go to www.golden-retriever.org. Registration is $145 for individual golfer, $500 for a foursome and $35 for dinner only. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required by Aug. 31.
