Bring the entire family out to visit over 60 Valley rescue groups who will be on hand with purebred and mixed breed dogs, cats and critters all waiting to find a home at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the St. Francis Festival, Blessing of the Animals & PACC911 Pet Adopt-A-Thon, sponsored by PetSmart Charities. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31 at the Franciscan Renewal Center at 5802 E. Lincoln Drive in Scottsdale.

The popular event will feature a dog wash (a great way to keep the dogs cool and treats are given for being good bathers), as well as a silent auction and raffle prizes (attendees who bring an unopened bag of pet food will receive a free raffle ticket). All proceeds benefit the PACC911 Emergency Medical Fund which provides financial aid to Valley non-profit animal welfare groups needing assistance with medical costs. In addition, the Arizona Animal Welfare League's Mobile Vaccine Clinic will be on-site to provide low cost micro-chipping and shots for dogs and cats. The animal blessings will take place at noon and 2 p.m. both days.

Admission and parking are free; adoption fees vary by group. Food and refreshments will be available at a nominal cost.

For more information, visit www.pacc911.org or call (602) 992-4779.
