Charity ride benefits Chandler K-9 unit

The American Legion Post 35 will host the second annual "Kickstands Up for K-9s" on Saturday, April 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the charity ride event will benefit the Chandler Police Department's K-9 unit.

The ride starts and stops at the American Legion Post 35, 2240 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler, and includes music, food, beer garden, door prizes and a K-9 demo. The event will also feature a 2 p.m. book signing hosted by actor Steve McQueen's widow, Barbara, and McQueen biographer Marshall Terrill. McQueen will sign copies of her photo book, Steve McQueen: The Last Mile and Terrill will sign Steve McQueen: A Tribute to the King of Cool also a photo book.

The charity ride event, book signing and K-9 demonstration are open to the public. You do not have to ride a motorcycle or register for the ride to attend the festivities.
