Residents across the Valley can adopt a dog or cat completely free of charge this weekend.

Twelve animal welfare groups with more than 40 locations, all of which are a part of the Fix. Adopt. Save. campaign, will participate in Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days, the largest pet adoption event in the nation.

These 12 groups will strive to reach their goal of adopting out 1,500 total pets over this weekend.

Arizona Animal Welfare League, HALO Animal Rescue, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, the Arizona Humane Society and eight rescue groups in the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition are participating in Maddie’s Adoption Days and are all a part of the Fix. Adopt. Save. campaign to end pet homelessness in Maricopa County.

To find out where to adopt, visit Hours vary per location.

A Miniature Schnauzer named Maddie inspired a $300 million legacy dedicated to giving every dog and cat in the United States what she had: a loving home. Maddie was a beloved family member of David Duffield, founder of Workday and PeopleSoft, and his wife, Cheryl.

For the last four years, Maddie’s Fund has sponsored Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days to honor her memory.
