Madison Meadows retirement community, 7211 N. 7th St. in Phoenix, is offering a free veterans benefits seminar on July 2 at 10 a.m.
The seminar will shed light on the little-known Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Aid and Attendance benefit program, which provides veterans and surviving spouses up to $1,949 per month, tax free. Thousands of veterans and surviving spouses are eligible, but many are unaware these benefits exist.
To meet eligibility, veterans must have served at least 90 days with one day during a declared war and satisfy certain financial and health requirements, as determined by the VA on a case-by-case basis.
The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, or to learn more about the seminar, call Madison Meadows at (602) 944-4222. To learn more about the Aid and Attendance benefits program, visit http://holidaytouch.com/Veterans/aid-attendance-benefits.aspx.
Area seniors are also invited to any of the free upcoming Fourth of July weekend events. The community is offering root beer floats on July 1 at 3 p.m., watermelon and lemonade on July 3 at 2 p.m. and a Fourth of July lunch at 12:30 p.m.
For more information or to RSVP, call Madison Meadows at (602) 944-4222.
