The inaugural Soldier Scramble will take place on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, at Palmbrook Country Club at 9350 W. Greenway Road in Sun City to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Registration starts at 6:30 a.m., followed by a continental breakfast at 7 a.m. and tee-off at 8 a.m. Lunch will follow play. The honored luncheon guest will be Mark Wilkins, who lost the lower portion of his right leg in Iraq. He has come to love the game of golf and Palmbrook Country Club is providing him with lessons, course access and will provide him with appropriate equipment when he is ready. Congressman Trent Franks will be the luncheon speaker.

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. The organization's vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in this nation's history.

A silent auction and raffle will take place after the tournament and is in need of items. All proceeds raised from the silent auction will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project. All donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

The Wounded Warrior Project was granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service functioning as a charity under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the organization are deductible as charitable contributions.
