Seven Arizona museums will offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2010, according to an announcement by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Blue Star Families, a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit network of military families from all ranks and services.

The Blue Star Museum initiative involves over 600 museums throughout the country which have agreed to offer free admission to members of the military and their families.

In Arizona, the museums are the Heard Museum in Phoenix (www.heard.org/), Phoenix Art Museum in Phoenix (www.phxart.org/), Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Scottsdale (www.smoca.org/), Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff (www.musnaz.org/), Arizona State Museum in Tucson (www.statemuseum.arizona.edu/), the Mini Time Machine Museum in Tucson (www.theminitimemachine.org/) and Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg (www.westernmuseum.org/).
