Ahwatukee residents' son gets his "Wings of Gold"

On Fri., October 22, LTJG Wayne Cheney received his "Wings of Gold". After graduating from the United States Naval Academy 2008, Wayne was designated to NAS Pensacola, Florida and then to NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Florida where he began his preparation and completion of becoming a Naval Aviator with his sights set on the MH-60S helicopter.

Wayne and his wife Rachel, are expecting a bundle of joy due in April, will be assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Wing in Norfolk, VA.

Wayne is the son of proud father, William Cheney a resident of Ahwatukee for 17 years.
