Pilates class for runners preparing for marathons

A Pilates class is being offered that focuses on improving body alignment and movement efficiency to optimize running performance and avoid injury. The class will also focus on core stability and strength, flexibility and proper breathing technique. Class is appropriate for beginner as well as advanced runners and for those rehabbing injuries.

Class will be taught by Heidi Wildy, a Stott Certified Pilates Instructor who holds a MS degree in Exercise and Wellness with a focus on Kinesiology. Class will begin week of Oct. 3 at WK Pilates, 6465 Rural Road (southeast corner at Guadalupe), Tempe. Class will meet twice per week for four weeks. Times and days of the classes will be based on demand. The cost is $160.
