Each year, Hospice of the Valley is able to assist patients and families with critical travel needs through the US Airways Wings for Hospice program. The airline provides travel gift cards that help families with limited financial resources come together, often in patients’ final days. In February, the airline made its latest award of $5,000, which will assist an estimated 12 families.
The airline established the program in 2007 and has since given a total of $14,000 in gift cards to nonprofit Hospice of the Valley.
