The Desert Mountain States Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will host its annual Light The Night Walk on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Tempe Arts Park, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway,

Tempe.

The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services to patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals.

Each walker is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 to become "Champions For Cures," which entitles you to dinner sponsored by Texas Roadhouse, a walk T-shirt and an illuminated balloon: white for survivors, red for supporters and gold balloons in memory of loved ones lost. Dedication banners and remembrance ceremonies provide an opportunity to display a name or message, honoring or commemorating a family member or friend with cancer.

Registration for the two-mile walk will start at 5 p.m., followed by the walk at 6:30 p.m. The event includes activities for all ages. Refreshments and live entertainment will continue throughout the walk.

To register as a team or individual, visit www.lightthenight.org/dm or call (602) 567-7641.
