Hospice of the Valley is hosting a six-week bereavement group for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT) starting next month.

The groups will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for six Thursdays, beginning Nov. 8 at the agency’s administrative office.

The bereavement group is open to members of the LGBT community who have experienced the death of a partner, family member or friend. Topics will include: self care in the face of grieving, handling anniversaries and holidays, rituals and “remembrances of the heart,” and redefining oneself by creating new meaning.

The registration deadline is Nov. 1. To register, call (602) 636-5390. Hospice of the Valley’s offices are located at 1510 E. Flower St. in Phoenix.
