Registration is available for the annual Shun the Sun Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K and Family Fun Run, in which 2,500 racers are anticipated to participate in one of Arizona's largest race fundraisers for battling skin cancer in our children.

From noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 13, at HoHoKam Stadium of Mesa, Shun the Sun Foundation, along with Steve Young's Forever Young Foundation, will host a charity fundraising expo and race to help fight the silent killer. Activities will begin Friday with a health and wellness expo featuring local merchants, free skin analysis, food venders and a free Kid's Zone. The Wellness Expo is free and is open to the community. The Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K and Family Fun Run will all begin promptly at 7 a.m. Saturday.

All profits will go directly to Shun the Sun Foundation's planning and building of shade structures at two of Mesa's underserved elementary schools.

The event is open to all ages and all levels of runners and walkers - individuals, teams, companies and sponsors. For more information, visit www.shunthesun.org/, call (480) 832-7546 or e-mail info@shunthesun.org. Discounted registration prices are available through Nov. 1. Volunteers are welcome.
