The Alport Syndrome Foundation (ASF) and The Kidney Foundation of Canada (KFOC)/Macquarie Research Fund were awarded nearly $200,000 in joint funding for two Alport Syndrome research projects in 2013-14 year.

ASF has provided more than $400,000 for Alport Syndrome research and is currently funding researchers at the University of Minnesota, Washington University and the Saban Research Institute/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. ASF is the leading organization in the USA dedicated to helping families with this genetic kidney disease and has raised almost $1 million since 2007.

The Alport Syndrome Foundation president is an Ahwatukee resident.
