Hospice of the Valley and the Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Cemeteries and Mortuaries are hosting a no-cost community presentation next month.

“Understanding the Journey of Dementia” will be shown on Nov. 3 at St. Theresa Parish, 5045 E. Thomas Road, in Phoenix. Participants will learn how to understand dementia and how it progresses from early to advanced stages, value the caregiver role and manage stress, and develop strategies for maintaining meaningful connections. Receive information about advanced medical directives and the Arizona health care power of attorney prepared by the medical ethics board of the Diocese of Phoenix.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., followed by the presentation from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

To reserve a seat, call (602) 636-5398 or email events4@hov.org.
