Boy Scouts of America, currently celebrating its 100th Anniversary, recently received $25,000 from the AT&T Foundation. The funds will be used for the "Soccer and Scouting" program to better serve high-risk, disadvantaged kids in hard-to-reach neighborhoods.

The "Soccer and Scouting" program will develop leadership skills through scout advancement and activities. The program will also encourage parents to participate as scout leaders and coaches. "Soccer and Scouting" teaches soccer skills and provides exciting competition, while at the same time instills the life-long values and leadership skills taught in the traditional Scouting program.
