The Phoenix Police Department will host a toy drive and free VIN etching Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ahwatukee Target, 4750 E. Ray Road.

VIN etching windows on cars is recommended by police to help identify cars or parts that have been stolen. It provides a silent, permanent form of protection and the service will be done for free.

Police will also be collecting toys for local charities. Most needed items are for boys and girls ages 8 to 14. New sports equipment, CDs and CD players, remote-control cars, gift cards, games, back packs, purses, makeup, back-to-school items and gifts for young toddlers are all requested.
