Volunteers needed to help homeless on Aug. 18

Volunteers are needed for the Aug. 18 Project Connect event in downtown Phoenixto benefit the homeless.

Volunteers will escort individuals in need to various services that will be available on site, including vital records, employment services, shelter/housing services, food, clothing, a shower or hair cut. Volunteers are needed to work morning and afternoon shifts on Aug. 18 between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public from 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
