Indicted infomercial pitchman Donald Lapre of Ahwatukee Foothills, was arrested June 23 on an outstanding warrant and was arraigned in a medical facility before Magistrate Judge Lawrence O. Anderson.
Lapre is currently being detained and recovering from leg wounds that were self inflicted prior to his arrest.
Lapre was arraigned on the pending 41 count indictment for conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, promotional money laundering and transactional money laundering.
Lapre's trial date has been set for Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. before Judge Susan R. Bolton. A detention hearing for Lapre has been slated for July 13 at 2 p.m. before Magistrate Judge David K. Duncan. Both hearings are set to occur in Phoenix.
