Southwest Behavioral Health Service’s Homeless Outreach, a nonprofit program to help homeless individuals, is requesting donations of hot weather supplies.

This mobile program delivers supplies to homeless living on the streets, in alleyways, riverbeds, parks and near deserted areas.

On scheduled days, employees of SBH Homeless Outreach visit soup kitchens, pocket shelters and transport homeless to mental health and substance abuse screenings.

This program covers Maricopa County. With homeless populations reaching record levels, the need for donations is greater than ever.

Items requested include: water, sunscreen, hats or caps, lip balm, hygiene kits (including toothpaste, toothbrushes), light-weight T-shirts, shoes, socks and underwear.

Donations can be dropped off at Southwest Behavioral Health, 3450 N. Third St. in Phoenix, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at SBH’s Homeless Outreach offices at Central Arizona’s Day Resource Center, 1125 W. Jackson, St., Suite 448, Phoenix, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Monetary donations are also welcomed. For large donations (from community drives, organizations or businesses), pick-ups can be arranged by calling (602) 393-9930, ext. 3444.
