The city of Phoenix offers two federally funded programs that help working families and individuals purchase a foreclosed house and make it their home. The Move-In Ready program offers newly remodeled, energy-efficient homes throughout Phoenix; $15,000 to use towards closing costs and partial down payment; and assistance to guide buyers throughout the process. The Home Improvement Program lets eligible buyers select a foreclosed home within specific ZIP codes and allows up to $40,000 for necessary home improvements, plus $15,000 to use towards closing costs and partial down payment. A Home Improvement Program partner is paired with the homebuyer to oversee and manage a timely construction process.
