On April 16, more than 30,000 runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators from across the country will take part in the 7th Annual Pat's Run. The 4.2 mile run/walk begins at 7 a.m. and ends on the 42-yard line of Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium, symbolic of the #42 jersey Pat Tillman wore while he was a Sun Devil football player.
Shadow Runs will also take place in select cities across the U.S. to honor Pat's life and legacy. Proceeds generated from the runs will once again directly impact hundreds of veterans, active service members and their dependents through educational scholarships at colleges and universities nationwide.
Pat's Run celebrates the life of Tillman, a scholar-athlete who first earned Arizona's respect through his academic achievements and accomplishments as a football player for Arizona State University from 1994-1997 and later in the NFL as a member of the Arizona Cardinals. Pat graduated from ASU in three and half years with a 3.87 grade-point average before being drafted by the Cardinals in 1998. His dominating defensive play made him a key player and fan favorite.
Pat's Run in Tempe also features a .42 mile Kids Run for children ages 12 and under. The Kids Run is $5 per entry in advance and $10 per child during race week. To register, visit: www.patsrun.com.
